Easter morning baskets

After the kids found the eggs, they found their baskets which the Easter Bunny had left in their closets. They were pretty excited about their treats and chocolate bunnies (oh the candy!). Jaiden got a couple of little crafty things. Elijah got a few little Lego sets, Jude got some gardening supplies and they all got bubbles. It was a nice little morning.
After church, we went and saw "Horton hears a Who". It is really funny. All the kids loved it. We had a nice dinner too.

Easter morning egg hunt at our house

Well, I didn't get too many pictures of the kids hunting eggs. I was also shooting some video of it. The whole thing went very fast. There were probably over 100 eggs hiding, but Jaiden and Elijah are really fast. Jude didn't seem to care, or get it. I would show him an egg and he would sort of mosey over to it, but if something distracted him on the way, he didn't mind. After the hunt was over and we cracked open the eggs and he saw that there was candy inside, he liked that. Jaiden and Elijah did a good job sharing. We poured all the egg candy into one big bowl for everyone. It was a lot of fun.

Egg hunt at Alpenrose Dairy

It was a particularly nice day on the Saturday before Easter. We decided to go to one of the local egg hunts. We chose one at Alpenrose Dairy because it had different hunts for the little kids and the big kids and even the Moms!
I guess a lot of people in Portland had the same idea, because the place was packed. It took us a really long time to drive down the farm road and park in the field because of the mob of people. Once we got there, it was time for the Mom's hunt. There were so many Moms hunting for the eggs, that I didn't even get one. The hunt took about 2 minutes. They had hidden some diamond earrings and some trips in the eggs, so everyone was going nuts for them. The kids hunts were more tame. Jaiden and Elijah both got a fair number of eggs. Jude got a few, but he wasn't that interested in quantity. He was actually putting his eggs in random other kids baskets just because they would laugh at him when he did.
I think next year we will have to go somewhere else for the egg hunt. Somewhere that is a little less popular!

Mudpuddles

Jude LOVES mud puddles! He stomps in them whenever he gets the chance. His shoes are constantly wet or muddy. In this instance, I remembered to bring his rain boots to Jaiden's horseback riding lesson. A particularly muddy area. Jude spent the whole time stomping in puddles. He is funny because he doesn't like me to help him. His boot would get suctioned down in a puddle and I would go to help him and he would scream at me that he didn't want me to help. Then he would fall over since his foot wouldn't move and cry about being so wet! It really is a no win situation. He loves those mudpuddles!

Haircuts

Well, Jude finally got his first haircut at 2 years 2 months. His hair was pretty long, and curly. It looked pretty cool, but it was getting hard to manage because it was so fine. He would wake up with a couple of dread locks in the back of his head from moving around so much in his sleep. I brought him to a kids haircutting place where the kids get to watch movies while they are getting their haircut. Jude watched "Toy Story". He did a great job during the cut and sat very still. He was giving the hairdresser these weird looks, but she thought they were funny. After he was done, they made him a little certificate and gave me some of his hair. It was very momentous. I wasn't sure that I liked the cut right when it was done, but after seeing if for a couple of days, I think it is cute. I had her leave a few of the curls on Jude. He looks like a big boy. Jaiden got her bangs trimmed and looks a lot better then she did. She was getting kind of shaggy too!

Riding bikes

It was a beautiful sunny day. Jaiden had her friend, Kira, over to play. The girls decided to do some bike and scooter riding. Jude wanted to ride on his bike (Elijah's old bike). He can't pedal it, but he likes to sit on it. He decided to do some fancy foot work and not put his feet on the pedals. He started to push the limit when he tried to put his feet up on the seat, and the bike fell over. After that, he resorted to running after the girls on their bikes. It was a nice day and the kids had fun.
